Welcome to Wild in Scotland

At Wild in Scotland, open water swimming is about more than just the swim itself. It’s about helping people feel confident, connected and at ease in the water.

Based in the heart of Stirlingshire, I offer a range of ways to get involved, from 1:1 coaching and structured courses to small group sessions and guided swims in some of Scotland’s most beautiful outdoor locations.

Whether you’re completely new to wild swimming, building confidence or looking to refine your skills and spend more time in the water, you’ll be supported at your own pace in a supportive and welcoming environment.

I also work with retreat organisers and event hosts, providing professionally guided swim experiences and consultancy to help create safe, well run open water sessions.

Meet Louise

Hi I’m Louise Gamble, an open water swimming coach and the person behind Wild in Scotland.

I’ve loved being outdoors and in the water for as long as I can remember. For me, open water swimming isn’t just something I do, it’s how I feel grounded and connected.

I’m an STA Level 2 Open Water Swimming Coach with additional training in safety and first aid, so you’ll always be in safe, experienced hands.

I offer 1:1 coaching and structured courses to small group sessions in some of Scotland’s most beautiful outdoor locations. Whether you’re new to open water or looking to build on your experience, everything is designed to help you feel comfortable, capable and supported in the water.

Alongside coaching, I also work with retreat organisers and event hosts, providing guided swim experiences and consultancy to help create safe, well run open water sessions.

My approach is supportive and flexible. I’ll meet you where you’re at and help you progress at your own pace, whether that’s building confidence, refining your technique or simply spending more time in the water.

Testimonials

Want to know what it’s like to swim with Wild in Scotland?

Here’s what people have said after joining sessions, courses and coaching. From first swims to building confidence and skills in the water, their experiences give a feel for what to expect.

"I was very nervous for my first swim as I am not great with the cold! Louise made me feel so comfortable and talked me through the importance of being aware of how I was feeling when in the water. She talked me through the safety elements of not letting myself get too cold.

When in the water Louise constantly checked in with me and encouraged me. I absolutely loved it and was feeling more confident.

I have now been for many swims and still love going with Louise as I always feel safer and more confident when she is there."
